Red Maple Trees are a deciduous hardwood which when growing in the
forest , the trunk is usually branch-free for half its length and when
in the open, the trunk divides or branches nearly to the ground. The can
grow up to three and a half feet in diameter and over fifty feet high.
Red Maple is named for the reddish colour of its buds, leafstalks,
flowers and fruit and the deep-red colour of its leaves in the fall.
The sap, though not as sweet as sugar maple`s was historically used to
make syrup and sugar.
They are shipped without soil and roots are wrapped in moist towel to
reduce shipping costs.
These Red Maple Trees are on average six to eight inches tall at time of
shipping (as in the picture) and have a good root system.
