Eastern White Cedar is found throughout the Great Lakes - St. Lawrence
Forest Region, most of the Acadian Forest Region, and in the central and
eastern parts of the Boreal Forest Region approximately as far north as
They grow in swampy areas, usually where the water in not too acid, but
where the underlying rock is limestone. They also occur on very shallow
dry soils that commonly cover flat limestone rock.
They are valuable for posts, poles. shingles, boat-building, canoes and
other uses where timber is exposed to decay.
Eastern White Cedar in know by Native Americans as the tree of life.
They are shipped without soil and roots are wrapped in moist towel to
reduce shipping costs.
These White Cedar Trees are on average six inches tall at time of
shipping (as in the picture) and have a good root system.
