Raleigh Laser SIS ------ 15-speed Racer
15-speed 1988 Raleigh Laser SIS with a very tall proprietary TI-Raleigh high tensile classic racer frame built to suit a rider from about 6'3 to 6'8 or so. Made in Canada with the usual Raleigh mixture of sourced parts: French (Rigida Superchromix) wheel set, Japanese stem, levers, crank assembly, brakes, and derailleurs, and Canadian frame. Two brand new tires.
The bike has a lugged and brazed GT-style "triple triangle" frame and is a true 15-speed racer with 5-sprocket Shimano freewheel (14 to 28 teeth) and Sakae triple front chainring set (30, 40, 50 teeth). Shimano SIS levers are on the stem and shifting can be set for friction or indexed. The length of the seat tube is 64cm from crank centre to top of tube so this is a nominal 25-inch frame. Riders under 6'1" tall will likely risk smacking their nuts on the top tube. Don't even ask. The bike is 29 years old and has the expected scratches and some signs of use but is in rideable condition with fresh grease in the wheel and crank bearings, fresh oil in the freewheel.
Length of seat tube: 25 inches. Height from ground to top of seat: 41.5 inches. Height from ground to top of top tube: 35 inches. Distance from centre of seat to top of fully extended pedal: 37 inches.
The bike is big but light for its size with aluminum alloy parts: Aluminum alloy Aero brake levers Aluminum alloy brake callipers Aluminum alloy Sakae handlebar stem Aluminum alloy chain cover Aluminum alloy 165mm Sakae crank arms Aluminum alloy Sakae SP155 pedals
The bike is in Oshawa. Pick up at my home or at Oshawa GO-Train Station by arrangement.
